But today, many volunteers have one thing in common: they understand their commitment as an opportunity to own personal development. With their commitment, they do not only give, but also some "have" something "get back". They want acknowledgment and recognition, the opportunity for personal training and further training. They want to bring their interests, skills and to assume independent responsibility.
respond to this need of volunteers means cost and effort. But if we want to have as a church empowered and committed Christians, should we be that this effort worth it. Volunteers "just make work" - in both senses.
